Wikipedia demo
Here is a small Nokia Series 60 app, developed to showcase the power of the Symbian SQL database API. The database has all 2.2 million English Wikipedia abstracts. Links to sections and full articles are also there and can be read directly from the app.
Searching by article name is instantaneous - we use the search-as-you-type interface like you normally have for Contacts app.
This demo has been shown off at Symbian booth at 3GSM 2008.
The app has only been tested on N95 8Gb, but should work on any S60 3rd Ed FP1 phone. Check out the Readme.txt before trying to install.
To install on N95 8Gb you need the following:
Wikipedia_v1.0.SIS
symbiansql_v9.2.sis
The database - 400Mb compressed
To build from source:
symbiansql_bin_v9.2.zip
Wikipedia_src_v1.0.zip
